Now Hiring: Bookkeeper!

We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks in the north shore Chicago region. This position requires tremendous attention to detail as well as 2+ years of recent construction accounting or service industry experience.

Bookkeeper responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, processing financial data such as Accounts Receivable and bank deposits, preparing reports and processing completed projects and jobs. You may be asked to process standard business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts. A successful accounting clerk should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers.

Ultimately, this Bookkeeper will work to ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively with a tolerance for few if any errors.


Experienced Bookkeeper (2 years minimum). Building & Construction trades a plus.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

Excellent knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Proficiency in full Office Suite (veteran Excel user is a must)

Experience with Business Software. Ex: SAP B1, NetSuite, Sage, etc

Excellent Organization, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently


Prepare weekly and monthly reports as requested by management

Assist CFO with Journal Entries, Bank Reconciliations, and Payroll

Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process

Process Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P)

Job Costing: Track and apply costs to projects daily via invoice and receipt entry.

Verification insurance and W-9’s on file prior to distributing subcontractor payments.

Make bank deposits.
