Account Manager, (Low Voltage Telecommunications Cabling Infrastructure, Video Surveillance, Access Control System Installations)
We are seeking a highly experienced Account Manager to join our Chicago area team! CPS is a well established local and national low voltage systems infrastructure provider. We are a Veteran Owned Small Business.
The Key Account Manager is responsible for the successful financial and contractual management of all accounts under their management. Additionally the Account Manager is responsible for their areas growth through identifying, bidding and winning new customers and projects. Manage to completion all projects assigned to them.
· Assigned to and reports to the Owner & President, CPS
Manage all projects & accounts assigned to a successful financial and contractual completion.
Identify, bid, and win new business both within existing accounts as well as new customer accounts.
Be the “quarterback” of the project. Lead all parties involved to ensure we are finishing the project on budget, on schedule, with the highest quality and customer satisfaction.
Work with the team members to ensure all operational and administrative items are handled during the planning phase of the project including all bonds, permits, clearance and access forms, safety certifications for crew, manufacturers’ certification for crew, wage scale information and set-up and any other administrative items have been procured and finalized for the projects.
Work with the CPS team in Opportunity (project) design (Bill of Materials).
Manage Change Orders and restrict / minimize scope creep.
Develop project plans, resource plans, training and test plans, and cutover plans, applying appropriate project methodology
Coordinate activities of multiple Product and/or IT service vendors
Create and deliver customer communications for dispatched work on a daily basis
Manage new construction installs for all low voltage requirements (Example: cabling plants, video surveillance systems, access control systems)
Facilitate project review meetings
Ensure that projects are clearly documented
Manage all contracts and sub-contracts
Manage, qualify and prepare all invoices for management sign-off and on to Accounting.
Financially manage the project and meet or beat the project budget.
Excellent customer service skills
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Able to work with a rapidly changing environment
Project Plus or PMP certification is always desired.
Experience with Procurement and Vendor Management
BICSI industry certifications a big advantage!
Relevant experience in the any or all of the low voltage systems areas we typically practice in (Structured cabling, fiber-optics, video surveillance, access control).
You came up through the low voltage systems installation ranks. (REQUIRED EXPERIENCE!)
Possess a proven ability to troubleshoot complex problems and provide solutions.
Self-starter, able to effectively triage issues to determine if escalation is required
Background in IT infrastructure procurement and sales ordering (Sage CRM knowledge helpful)
Effectively interact with team members, senior management, vendors, consultants, and internal/external customers
PMP, BICSI certifications a definite advantage for this candidate
Video Surveillance, Access Control, fiber optics, structured cabling knowledge is a distinct advantage.
Pass a post-offer drug screen & criminal background check.
Eligible to obtain a State of Illinois Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) for a Security company.
Clean Motor Vehicle Record
Experience working in a Union environment with IBEW a definite plus!
